Dear Ribalta, I wanted to commend your host, Benjamin, for his exceptional handling of our reservation issue. After a frustrating experience with a mix-up regarding our booking for the Friday night party, he provided clear communication (unlike the other staff we spoke with) and worked diligently to accommodate us, despite the overbooking. His professionalism turned a disappointing situation into a wonderful evening for my friends and family. Thank you, Benjamin, for your outstanding service! P.S. The food was terrific!

Holy Smokes! BEST GLUTEN FREE PIZZA EVER! It was really hard to believe it was gluten free, but they proved it to me. It tasted like a cloud of cheesy tomatoey bready goodness. Even if you are not gluten free, it is worth trying. My sister and I split a pizza and the beet/mango salad, which was also awesome. The vibe at the bar is delightful and the bartenders are funny. The restaurant seemed to be preparing for a number of large group reservations - I would schedule a group dinner here, just to accommodate all of those gluten free folks.

Atmospher is amazing the service is excellent and the food is always superb can't wait to go back again

- idk why this says Ribalta pizza when its regular Ribalta - make that resey, indoor seating might be hard to come by - tasty drinks - recos are decent depending on who you ask - received five different answers form five different staff members - fresh salad - meatballs taste homemeade - madrilena was great! - comune was amazing - butter soft dough - active music soundtrack

Heard so much about this "best Neapolitan pizza in NY", had to check it out myself during my week here. Full pie only, no slices. I ordered my benchmark Margherita pie with red sauce (they also have a white version). It came out prompty from their wood fire oven (not for long as NYC is banning it.) In typical Neopolitan style, it's soft thin crust that you eat with a knife and fork (or easier by hand). It's loaded with mozzarella and bits of basil. The crust is perfectly baked with the ouside slightly charred and middle pillowy soft. Friendly helpful Italian staff. Ribalta's Neapolitan pizza imo truly lives up to the hype.

Stopped in on a Friday night (made the reservation the night before and had plenty of availability). Great atmosphere, service, and food. Definitely a nice date spot. Got the: -Vegan Pizza (solid dough, fresh toppings, and sufficient size) -Truffle Gnocchi (very very tasty and rich sauce; the gnocchi were smaller than normal but packed a punch) $~32 each (a bit pricy but typical of Manhattan) Will be coming back!

I was in NYC on a Sunday and the #2 ranked pizza spot in the world (actually #3 because there was a tie for #1) Una was closed. Luckily for me, Ribalta was open and was also ranked in the Top 10. This restaurant is located near Greenwich Village, a short walk from Washington Park. Upon walking in, I was mildly dissapointed and somewhat skeptical. The interior design looked more like something out of a beachside town like Santa Monica, CA. Kind of modern-coastal vibes with lots of white and neon. It just looks like a touristy spot ... and worse yet, the faux leather benches were torn and flaking in spots and covered in somewhat iffy throw pillows. I am glad that I did not judge a book by its cover. As a somewhat expert on Neopolitan pizza, I've had the best in the world in Naples ... and the top rated ones in the US. I still put Pasquale's in Rhode Island towards the top spot, along with Naples offshoot Pizzaria Antical di Michelle in West Hollywood, CA. (The NYC offshoot closed) From a purely pizza standpoint, I'd put Ribalta in my top 10 or 15. You'll never get cheese as good as the Fior di Latte in Naples. It's otherworldly and, it seems, impossible to recreate. The sauce at Ribalta is made with cherry tomatoes from near Mount Vesuvius and I'd believe it because the sauce is as good as any I've ever had on a pizza. The crust gets an 8.5 - 9. It's light and airy ... somewhat floppy in the middle and good enough that you'll want to eat the crust. While a very solid recreation of Neopilitan pizza, it lacks perfection in a few ways: - The ingredients are good but something was just off. This is not to say it wasn't great pizza ... I'd still put it in my top 10 - 15 US pizzas. However, maybe the ratio of cheese/sauce/basil was slightly off. It seemed a tad dry. Not sure why ... maybe a bit more cheese was needed, or a spritz of oil. - Obviously, things in NYC are going to be more expensive. I won't compare the value of this to Naples, where $12 buys you a pizza and a beer. After tip, a single Margherita pizza (not even bufalo mozerella) and beer was almost $50. That's just a lot to pay for a pizza. Overall, while I wasn't impressed with the decor, the pizza was a solid 9 ... if you like authentic Neopiltian pizza. If you are looking for NYC style pizza ... this isn't it. I have heard that John's nearby is the spot for NYC style pizza, although I wasn't that impressed and would choose Prince Street Pizza for NYC style pizza. I would return here if I was craving Neopilitan style pizza, if not for the sauce alone, although the world is catching up to Naples.

East Village prices meets an Old World style of pizza, and it works, I can happily say. The pizza is Neapolitan style. I had to get two pies because I wanted to compare and contrast the red and white pies. Before I get to the crux of the review, I can say both pies were great and would get both of these again, that goes without saying. The white pie I ordered was the Quattro Formaggi, or a 4 cheese blend. All the flavors of the pie are nutty, savory, and blend well against the backdrop of a crust that demands respect. It was a pleasure to eat this, but punctuated by the fact I got a red pie to balance things out. I was happy I did this. The red pie I ordered was the Doc pie. Very simple in appearance, it carried great flavor from the sauces and the cheese holds quite well. It is a floppy pie, but it has great taste and will have you thinking and tasting this pie long after you leave this restaurant. Get a nice red wine and with both these pies you have yourself a nice evening. $45 for two pies, cut very generously, is great value. I would have brought these home if not for the fact I have a long subway ride home and worry the pizza would not hold. Not to worry, there will be other opportunities to come back here and have some more pizza.

There are only 2 pizza place in NYC that are members of the "Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana" - Ribalta and Song E Napule. They passed the strict requirements on dough prep, ingredients used, the way it's cooked etc, so it's almost guaranteed to be authentic, and I can verify that yes this place is legit! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ~ Margherita Rossa $18 (+ Spicy Salame $4) ~ Rating: 4/5 The outer ring is nicely puffed up with the right amount of char, even got a bit of a crisp to it. It's chewy and pillowy (not as good as Song E Napule's dough though). The pizza thin is very thin and sloppy exactly the way it should be, doused in fresh tomato sauce, fior di latte that's soft and moist, and lots of delicious spicy salame! I really enjoyed this sloppy mess, finished the entire pie myself - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Will I be back? Yes I personally think Song E Napule makes a better pie, still this is a solid Neapolitan pizza and worth coming back! I saw someone getting truffle flavour and it smelled so good! Perhaps I should try white sauce next time, even though it's not the traditional way haha!

The hardest decision I've had to make on a 72 hour trip was deciding where to eat with so little time! Being huge pizza fans Ribalta was a no-brainer, since they were ranked #11 for the best pizza in the world last year and currently crowned with the best pizza in NYC title. All dishes we've ordered- the baked octopus, meatballs, Mediterranean salad, and of course their pizza were all fantastic. I was at first disappointed that specialty cocktails were not available during lunch; we were grateful when our amazing server whipped up the most balanced negroni I've ever had. I was just as elated with a well-made classic after all. This dining experience was definitely 11/10 and highly recommend it!
